hand-crafted from sterling silver, brace explores the lines of the body and transforms them into a piece of jewelry. meticulously bent to fit closely to the body, a single piece of silver wire flows along the neck, back between the shoulder blades and forward to the décolletage. its curved, cohesive shape accentuates the contours of the body.
in its shape, brace carries an enigma: how is the jewelry put on?
due to the silver wire's flexible properties, the neck can simply be pushed between the two elongated wings which will then bend apart and spring back to their initial position as soon as the neck sits in the designated oval curve.
emphasizing every bodily movement, a pendant breaks the symmetry and rigidity of brace and gives it momentum. formally, it adds contrast to the piece. there is tension between stiffness and fluidity, edges and roundness, finitude and endlessnes.
the necklace has a clasp at each end that can be hooked to the brace just once so that the chain dangles down and around the hips, or twice and the chain will flatter the waist.
